Karen Yagerhofer, Annual Fund Officer
Karen Yagerhofer is one of four who work for the Pardee Hospital Foundation. Her position as the Annual Fund Officer or as she likes to call it Annual “FUN” Officer consists of raising unrestricted funds for the hospital through various avenues including annual appeals to donors, Grateful Patient Programs and the Annual Cornhole Tournament to name a few.
Karen also chairs Pardee Choice, the annual employee giving campaign for all Pardee Team Members allowing them to contribute to United Way initiatives and the work of Pardee Hospital Foundation. Karen attended the University of Delaware with a degree in textile and clothing.
She had many interesting jobs before joining Pardee’s team. Karen worked for a children’s apparel company for ten years and then made her way to Wisconsin to take a position in the corporate office for Jockey International where she was Director of Stores.
She also worked for Apple Computers for a while before moving to Hendersonville where she began at the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and then landed at Pardee Hospital Foundation. Her favorite thing about Hendersonville is the friends she has made here and the fact that there is always something fun to go out and do. When I asked Karen what the word philanthropy means to her, she said, “It is promoting the good work of pardee hospital by raising money and educating people about what the hospital does and who it serves.” She also believes the reason Pardee stands out from other hospitals is that it is a world class medical facility in a very small rural community which allows people to have compassionate care close to home. After volunteering at the foundation this summer, I have seen the energy and positive attitude Karen brings to the foundation and the impact she makes everyday.
